“This wasn’t simply a nostalgia show-it was a reminder of why Passion Pit’s music continues to resonate.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Few bands can transport an audience back to a specific chapter of their lives quite like Passion Pit. The band's return to the legendary 9:30 Club delivered an evening filled with shimmering synth-pop, emotional songwriting, and infectious energy. From the opening notes of 'The Reeling,' the sold-out audience sang nearly every lyric.

Michael Angelakos balanced soaring falsetto vocals with heartfelt intimacy, while the band recreated the lush arrangements that made Passion Pit one of indie pop's defining acts. Warm amber lighting shifted to deep cobalt blues throughout the performance, creating a cinematic atmosphere that perfectly complemented the music.
The emotional center of the evening arrived during 'Constant Conversations,' 'Remembering You,' and 'I'll Be Alright,' before the room erupted again for 'Carried Away,' 'Little Secrets,' and an unforgettable 'Sleepyhead.' The encore opened with 'To Mend Two Broken Vessels,' dedicated to family members in attendance, and concluded with 'Smile Upon Me' and 'Alone (On Ice!) / Sleepyhead.'
